Antigua & Barbuda has introduced Welcome Home Antigua, a biometric immigration service designed to make airport arrivals quicker and easier for returning citizens. Following its soft launch on 1st October, the programme is expected to be fully operational by 15th October at V.C. Bird International Airport and Burton-Nibbs International Airport in Barbuda.
Citizens wishing to use the service can download the Welcome Home Antigua app on an Apple or Android device and enrol in the system. Facial recognition technology will then verify their identity on arrival, speeding up immigration clearance and removing the need for enrolled passengers to complete an Embarkation/Disembarkation form.
