Antiguan and Barbudan chef Giovanni Meyer has been selected as one of 12 competitors for season 13 of Top Chef Canada, premiering on 20th October.
Meyer, who runs private-chef business Pinch of Black Salt, trained at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute and the Culinary Institute of America. His career has taken him from Carlisle Bay and Sheer Rocks to Michelin-starred A Voce in New York and Toronto’s Constantine and Byblos.
The enthusiastic response to a five-course dinner he prepared for ABTA’s Taste of Antigua and Barbuda event in Toronto in March encouraged him to enter the competition. In June, he also mentored 12-year-old Gigar Campbell to first place in the Grace Junior Chef Challenge at the Island Eats Toronto Food and Travel Festival.
Canadian viewers can watch Top Chef Canada on Flavour Network from Tuesday 20th October at 10pm ET/PT, with streaming available exclusively on STACKTV.
