Antigua & Barbuda has been named the Caribbean’s Leading Wedding Destination 2026 at the World Travel Awards. The honour recognises the islands’ appeal to couples and the tourism professionals who help them plan their celebrations, from intimate beach ceremonies to larger gatherings with family and friends.
“Couples are looking for more than a beautiful location. They want a destination where their celebration feels special from the moment they arrive, where their families and friends can create memories together and where the details are handled with care,” said Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
James credited tourism partners for the award, highlighting the talent, creativity and care that go into organising weddings across the islands. That expertise also serves couples visiting for honeymoons, anniversaries, proposals and vow renewals, making romance an established part of the country’s tourism appeal.
