Antigua & Barbuda has won two titles at the 2026 World Culinary Awards, taking both the World’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination and Caribbean’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination awards. The recognition celebrates the islands’ food culture and culinary talent as food takes a greater role in the visitor experience.
The awards follow the development of Antigua & Barbuda Culinary Month, which brings together chefs, restaurants, farmers and producers to showcase local ingredients, traditional cooking and new approaches to Caribbean cuisine.
“This honour belongs to the chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, local cooks and partners who bring that vision to life,” said Shermain Jeremy, Director of Tourism for the Caribbean and Latin America and Culinary Month Lead at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. “It strengthens our resolve to grow culinary tourism in ways that celebrate our identity and create lasting opportunities for our people.”
Culinary Month will return from 1st–31st May 2027 under the theme “A World of Flavour. A Destination Worth Discovering.” The programme will include Restaurant Week, FAB Fest, Food Forum and chef collaboration events, giving residents and visitors more opportunities to explore the islands through their food.
