Growing up in a Punjabi family in Vancouver, Canada, the vibrant colours of Indian fabrics and the art of the Canadian First Nations people were Sonu Murphy’s creative influences. Her art today depicts stunning sunsets, whimsical fish, playful turtles, stoic octopuses, and colourful jellyfish, which are brought to life with a strong palette of bold, bright, and harmonious colours. Barbuda’s much-loved Caribana Festival is in full swing, bringing five days of music, pageantry, food, sport and community celebration to the island. Cambridge-based Antiguan chef Kareem Roberts, born in the UK but raised in Antigua, has earned recognition for bold flavour, refined technique and a style of cooking that balances tradition with modern interpretation. As the first Caribbean individual to voyage to space, she’s etched her name alongside daughter Anastasia Mayers, forming the inaugural mother-daughter cosmic duo. From childhood stargazing to a grounded, holistic lifestyle of meditation, yoga, and veganism, Keisha now shares her path as a wellness coach.
